Well I ran short on time as well . I did take a look and I have to say Ford did a hell of a Job under the dash . Nice and clean . I was reluctant to pull the plug on the brake wireing harness do to how late it was. The good news is with that plug if the wires are there that you need a "Y" harness could be made and it would be plug and play . I would think Pirate Air could help out on this one.

Deadeye, I was just going to splice into the correct pair of wires and close the brake light circuit with a momentary switch. I just need to know which two wires.

Lance Vincent, you're kidding. I know you're kidding. Nobody is going to spend $1,300 on a 40" light bar and mount it on the back of their truck to warn away tailgaters.

I have e-mailed the salesman I bought the truck from and asked him if he could get with the service department and find out what those four wires at the brake light switch are for. He's been quite helpful, and I hope he will respond with something useful.

I was also hoping that an FRF member had a wiring diagram and would be interested enough to have a look at it and help with this.

Salesman came through and sent wiring diagrams. Need to get to a decent printer, and will tell you what I learn.

The young salesman understands customer support better than a lot of old hands. He has sent me a .tif file of the relevant portions of the wiring diagram, and it looks like a momentary switch can indeed be wired into the brake light switch by using the VT-WH and BN-RD wires. I will test to be sure. Cannot upload a .tif file here, but PM me with an e-mail address and I will gladly send the wiring diagrams to you.

It works! I tested it key off, key on, running stationary and rolling. No problems. I now have the means to flash my brake lights at tailgaters.
