Brake light help

the brake wire in the drivers kick is purple/white or purple/red. i dont know if the colors change at the light itself but try disconnecting the bad side and test for power in the wire WITHOUT THE LIGHT CONNECTED. do this first and then let me know what you find

Am I missing something here? there is nothing behind my brake light or anything to even get wet?
