My 2014 also has an issue disengaging from 4L. My work around was slowing to 5mph or less, engage neutral and switch to 4 Hi. It clunks a little, which is better to me than the grinding. The dealer had no answer, so I bought the extended warranty and will run it till it fails.

So what was the verdict from the dealership?
I took it up.

It transferred perfectly in and out of course....the first time.

He said "do it again" and bam..."please pull forward" followed by no drive gear and then grind.....this is always at a dead stop in neutral...i supposed it might work from a slow roll in neutral but it shouldn't require all that.

They immediately said that wasn't normal so im dropping it off Tomorrow. Asked me not to engage any of the system other than 2w hi until then.

They will fix under the 30 day new sale clause.

I did buy the 48 month 48,000 bumper to bumper cvg but this will fall on their standard plan because Fords plan doesn't cover them for the first 30 days.

I guess the dealership got screwed a little there but i am having a hard time feeling too bad about it under the circumstances.

Can’t you just rev the engine and forget about it? :p

For those of you expressing concern about 2017 tries on a 2014 Raptor, 7450lb gross vehicle weight vs 7050, that doesn't seem much different, around 5%.

Does anyone change tires when they put gravel in the bed, or put 2 adults with boots on in the back?

How often are we at max gross vehicle weight anyways? And how would we know? 35 gallons of gas weighs most of that difference.

I'm not seeing it.

Mis information in that article too....

They assume ( like most) that the E rated tire is always of heavier construction but, that only applied to the tires they tested not the KO2. The KO2 in 315/70-17 is the same dang tire, C or E range, at 65 lbs each. There is no additional durability built in that is any advantage off road.

The ko2 e has one more ply of polyester sidewall...
I currently have c's on my gen1, run them at 45 on smooth roads and 30 on dirt roads
Why 45? Because the truck handles better in the turns
The c's are rated for 2500 each... so that leaves 2500 for payload. Plenty good

ogdobber, by chance have you ever run the KO2 E load or 37 KO2 D load ? If so how would you rate the ride quality? I am currently running KO2 E load and I find the tire to be a harsh ride with them. I am think to move to 37 KO2 or C load 315 KO2s.

My truck has KO2 E's inflated to 45 psi, rides great.

The ONLY difference in ride between the two is directly related to the inflation pressure. This notion that the E is a tougher or heavier tires is false.

I know you guys with E rated tires think it is badass and all but, there is no practical difference on a Raptor, none, zip, zero, nada.

Try lowering your tire pressure. Makes a massive difference

Fact. The E has a three layer polyester sidewall where the C has a two. So yes the E is "tougher"

Thks for the reply. I currently running 42 in front and 40 on the rears. I have tried a lot of different combo for air pressure.
