That was autocorrect typo.
Coupe = xpipe (upper RH of borla diagram)
That kit does not have the resonator.
what exactly does the resonator do? Is it necessary to have? When people get the Borla s type do they usually add the resonator? Is there a big sound difference with and without it?

My s-type experience without the resonator, running the xpipe, was a very raspy/ricer sound with booming/drone around 2k rpm. The borla (and stock) resonators take the rasp out of these exhausts. It was very, very quiet when the resonator was new but now sounds really good, for a turbo 6, and has zero drone etc. It's somewhere between a Gen3 sport and baja mode, if you've heard those.

Again, I only did the exhaust because the OEM muffler had some baffles come loose and it sounded like total ass. If your exhaust is good, and that money is burning a hole in your pocket, I'd upgrade the intercooler instead.

Ok good to know thank you. I thought the Borla exhaust had no drone.

What would the intercooler help with? Witch do you recommend

I’m running SPD Catted down pipes and the stock resonator and the Borla S type all the way back. I had the Borla resonator and took it out and added the stock resonator back in to get the sound I wanted with no drone. The Borla had very little drone with the Borla resonator but it was noticeably better with the stock one back in place. It’s nice a subtle when driving around with light throttle input but when I get in it it sounds really good for a V6. But again to each their own. Good luck on finding what tone works for you.

So there is a big difference between stock and Borla resonator. I think I will probably keep the stock on an hope it sounds nice
