Boomba BOV light check engine

I just disconnected the hose. I have the boomba sitting on the shelf wondering it worth installing. Anyone know if the boomba sound is louder than just the disconnected hose?

It’s 10 times louder. It’s a very easy instal. I had a plug before and after boomba installation i was smiling like a kid in the candy store

ok it sounds to me the boomba makes the woosh sound for a longer duration. I saw a video on install it looks like my 19 has the valve mounted vertical instead of horizontal as in the video. Guessing you take off the front guard and pop off the pipe that's in the way? I may need to play around with it over the holiday weekend. Thanks

I did the same installation like the one in the video for regular F-150. The only thing I did extra was to disconnect the intake hose (same hose where u plug in your plug) for extra room. Connect the hose back after the installation. There is no need for that hose to be disconnected

Turbosmart ditches ALL ELECTRONIC CONTROL of the BOV and runs purely off of boost reference from the EVAP port the way God intended. You can run more boost and the turbosmart BOV is not a plastic piece of crap the truck came with. When you spend $75K on a truck.....what's another $300?

True that.. It’s a plastic crap. I like the Turbosmart product but the only area of concern is the connection on the resistors do not cut through the wire insulation when you just clip it on to the stock blow-off valve wire connector. You have to cut off the wire connector on the resistor and solder it to the factory wire... otherwise the check engine light might come on

I had no problem with the crimp connector. Used lineman’s pliers just to make sure. Now if we could just get rid of the electric wastegates. These are probably what are keeping anyone from offering big turbo upgrades for the truck.

My apologies for reviving the this thread, but didn't want to start a new one.

Considering the Boomba vs just the plug only, but I was wondering if either one creates an unwanted entry point for water during fording? There are a few slow creeks that we go through sometimes, usually no more than 15-20" deep.

Everyone still happy with their Boomba (or plug) ?
