Ford is putting that in to watch you. They don’t care to do the watching, they care about selling it for enormous amounts of dollars. You must’ve not read my original post.

“I don’t do anything wrong so I don’t care.” You should bc it’s still an invasion of your privacy. And you don’t do anything wrong now by definition, but wait until they change the definitions of what is wrong. (See the Dept of Homeland Security latest release on what “domestic terrorism” is. And aren’t Canadians suppose to understand all of this, especially right now?)

Also, casually giving up your rights bc you think you’ll never be targeted leads to giving up more to a greater extent. And what they aren’t telling you is that the technology isn’t just for spying, it’s also for framing or supplementing false evidence. (Also see latest release of Durham report on Clinton spying and implementing fake evidence on a future and active President.)

Just because the black box gets taken or destroyed doesn’t mean the data hasn’t already been uploaded. It would be stupid for them not to have it uploaded because they wouldn’t be able to make money off of it if that were the case.

No offense, but The Gone in 60 Secs reference is very typical: framing your reality based on movies…even if you are joking.

All this to say, I find it bizarre that people who have no clue about all this would argue with someone who has used these technologies in the course of their work and still has to from time to time. If you don’t believe me about this little stuff, you are definitely going to think I’m a sociopath if I were to tell you all the really advanced technology tools I’ve used. Blow your mind. But, it is the internet…

Enough of all this.
So, you're saying that you have "used these technologies in the course of your work" to "it’s also for framing or supplementing false evidence". This I find more alarming than a recording device in a truck I don't own. I already know that I should be more concerned about the security of my cell phone, but I still stand by my last post "not worried about Ford".
Please understand that I am not undermining your intelligence or your profession. We all are privy to information the general public has no idea about within our own spectrum of work careers. I have no need to boast about it on the internet or in your case, bringing it to light for others to evaluate. I am more concerned about the criminals having access to hardware that can easily hack into the present technology and steal a vehicle on a whim, let alone hack the self driving modes the general public is dying to get their hands on in their personal vehicles. KAOS.

Just to stir the pot I gotta stipulate that the “black box” can be remotely downloaded. It can also be reconfigured and programmed to download wherever ther is a cell connection. If you don’t care because you never “do anything wrong”, good for you. Now I will bring something else to light, do you think that your Bluetooth cell connection is only active when you talk on the phone? Really? The truck is a computer on four wheels and as Forscan can alter the trucks original programming, so can other software, used when a person least expects. If a wiretap is up on a criminals phone, the target will not know it. The same is true with the 2021 Raptor. Ask yourself, if I make sense, or am I a quack. Also, what do I have to gain? Your answer doesn’t matter to me, it matters to you! Because I believe in liberty and freedom, I had my 2021 Raptor’s ability to spy on me neutralized. For the 10th time, this is just a PSA!

I do, I flew aircraft and conducted sorties engaged targets on the ground and air using ECM Jaming Radar and lidar and this has been going on for years. I would say I have more experience in Technology. If this cop was working at NSA it would be a different story. My brother is a LT with the biggest agency in Southern Ca and super Mario brothers is high tech to them! So, put tape on it! Lol
You may have mistaken my first post. I believe I have much more experience in this arena than probably anyone here. Although I’m not a developer, I am a professional end-user of these technologies. There are horrendous and mind-boggling technologies that are out there and being used right now. Just because you never experienced them in your arena does not mean they don’t exist.

Everyone should already know that a black box, aka Event Data Recorder is installed inside all newer model vehicles. It was originally intended to record stuff like seatbelt usage, speed and brake pedal pressure. However, that was yesteryear. Now it actually films the driver! I will backup a bit. A few days after I took delivery of my CO 37, I was seated in the LF and noticed a small dark tinted window on the left door and above the SYNC 4. After I read the stuff in the owners manual that most people skip, I discovered a camera is behind the tinted window. Ford as well as NTSB indicates the camera is only active during the proceeding 30 seconds of an event. Although I do not know it to be a fact, I have good reason to believe that the camera is on a two minute continuous loop. In my former life, for five years, I was a narcotics cop and I would often write a “sneak and peak” warrant (Google it), to obtain data on a drug dealers vehicle. I won’t go into specifics because I am positive those types of warrants are used today, but I will tell everyone that the black box is always in operation……ALWAYS. READ THE ATTACHMENTS and do your own research. There is a lot of stuff used to monitor people in a “free society“. The first link is off the topic, but it is an example I use to make a point. The second link is about the EDR!

Oh for sure, if you are talking about surveillance , but to think that Ford is putting that in vehicles to watch you like a peeping Tom is plain just Ludacris. I don't walk or drive around looking over my shoulder , I'm not a bad person nor do I have a guilty conscience, so I don't need to worry about that stuff. Vehicle accidents are rarely a criminal offence as well and it wouldn't take 5 minutes for a criminal to pull the box out of a Raptor and destroy it or hide it forever, therefor destroying all proof of his/her activities. The real criminals are far more ahead of the average police officer in technology.

At least in "gone in 60 seconds", lol.

Just don't post any of your Trudeau stuff while you're in the truck. We don't want your crypto getting seized at the roadblocks.

I have not personally used it, but I know people that do use it currently, my former coworkers. However, I did track drug dealer vehicles using OEM GPS. The other stuff was in BETA at that time. To be clear, LE does not concern me, but others do! I really don’t care if people believe me, I only brought it to light because I also know technology gets abused and the general public is too busy paying a mortgage to be alarmed. Remember, it doesn’t take a geek to use Forscan, all it takes is a computer and software.

First, any purpose to photograph me inside my truck is wrong. Secondly, an iPhone, when not used is in a purse, or pocket. if I pick my nose I would like to think it is not being filmed and will not be made public if “an event“ occurred. If my GF gave me road head, I would like to think it is not on film. I am just attempting to inform people what they may think is private, may not be private.
its funny but @K9Expert is absolutely right in what he is saying a camera with a capability is free game in the cybercentric world we live in. We expect privacy but are being surrounded by more and more resources to provide surveillance to be used against us. We know the “intention” for the cameras but what happens when the source codes or data gets in the wrong hands....or the full capability is explored Or exploited.

Let's flip the script a bit.

Would it be possible for me to hack into my truck cams and broadcast myself driving around town? Could the driving motions of a middle aged, slightly athletic, yet unconventionally handsome man be monetized somehow? :)

Beyond that, if we all did this and started a channel, would anyone give a s h i t after the first few minutes?

I think this is our play.
