What you said is true, however knowledge is power. The power is the ability to put tape over it and make the choice. How would you feel if you were being filmed by the TV in your living room? Inside vehicles, TV’s could be next. at you said is true, however knowledge is power. The power is the ability to put tape over it and make the choice. I know that hackers and even some companies like Ring have been caught watching people through their video camers on the security devices, laptos, as well as, TV's for some time now.

It's just computer written instructions that will allow one to access your camera.

First, any purpose to photograph me inside my truck is wrong. Secondly, an iPhone, when not used is in a purse, or pocket. if I pick my nose I would like to think it is not being filmed and will not be made public if “an event“ occurred. If my GF gave me road head, I would like to think it is not on film. I am just attempting to inform people what they may think is private, may not be private.

Well if you get married you won’t have to worry about Road Head being recorded Simple solution to that problem.

I skipped a lot of the pages on this so I might be repeating something already said. Wouldn’t the 2 minute loop recording be in case of an accident it’s “saved” to see if the driver was distracted, cell phone, eating, road rage etc. it could be used for litigation. But I see that being the only reason of a video or pic capture, since “black box” is recording everything before an impact, speed, direction, braking, airbags, etc.

I need a GPS to find my way home, I feel your pain! It just bugs me that I am being digitally videoed (not filmed) in my truck that I paid for, when I am minding my own business. I had the PPF guy place a stealth PPF on the 3 camera windows inside the truck and he didn’t charge me. I get it back tomorrow after a full wrap. Because I am old it will not impact me as much as a 30 year old, but if social media can determine ”misinformation“, what is next, cameras inside of a persons house? I bow to those like you that do not care and hopefully your grandkids will not be required to learn Chinese, but as someone mentioned, if you give an inch, they will take a mile. IMHO, Ford should have never placed cameras inside the truck………safety or not, it is a camera.
Again, it’s only 1 camera. The other 2 are IR leds. Not that it really matters, mostly just a fyi.

Everyone should already know that a black box, aka Event Data Recorder is installed inside all newer model vehicles. It was originally intended to record stuff like seatbelt usage, speed and brake pedal pressure. However, that was yesteryear. Now it actually films the driver! I will backup a bit. A few days after I took delivery of my CO 37, I was seated in the LF and noticed a small dark tinted window on the left door and above the SYNC 4. After I read the stuff in the owners manual that most people skip, I discovered a camera is behind the tinted window. Ford as well as NTSB indicates the camera is only active during the proceeding 30 seconds of an event. Although I do not know it to be a fact, I have good reason to believe that the camera is on a two minute continuous loop. In my former life, for five years, I was a narcotics cop and I would often write a “sneak and peak” warrant (Google it), to obtain data on a drug dealers vehicle. I won’t go into specifics because I am positive those types of warrants are used today, but I will tell everyone that the black box is always in operation……ALWAYS. READ THE ATTACHMENTS and do your own research. There is a lot of stuff used to monitor people in a “free society“. The first link is off the topic, but it is an example I use to make a point. The second link is about the EDR!

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I had no idea and somehow never noticed that hidden camera.
