Sorry the Retrax didn't survive. I just purchased a roll up cover. Definitely hoping it holds up off road. Your success with a retractable cover is what made me feel comfortable switching. That's irony for you, lol.

The winch stored in the bed is a great idea by the way. They definitely take a beating when exposed to the elements.

Thanks Mark.

The Retrax death was completely my fault. We did a parade lap and then I got right back in line to hit the course BEFORE I remembered to remove all the gear I brought at our pit area. I drove the course twice and got airborne several times before returning to the pit. One of the heavy Rubbermaid containers must have smashed against the underside of the cover and put a 2 foot crack in the cover and knocked it off the track.

I would get another Retrax again, It was a great cover. I loved how easy it was to open and lock in any position and it was secure. Granted I like the added Bed space of not having the canister by the bulkhead too with this new soft cover.

Glad it didn't fail on its own. I ended up getting Truck Covers USA cover. Haven't gotten it put on yet. Too cold and too busy. Seriously looked at the Retrax but the canister was too big. This one the canister is only 8 x8" so I won't lose as much space.
