I believe the KO2s are getting replaced soon. I signed up for this group email through BFG a while back and they send me surveys to fill out. I got one on Sept 13th and it was all about how to market offroad tires and what category to put them in. I should have screen-shotted the slides as it had pictures of some new offroad tire designs and asked me which I liked more

There's only a 470 lb. difference between the Gen1 and Gen2 if memory serves me correctly.
I don't know why someone would even buy the C tire for any year.
Unless saving $160 for a set is a big deal to someone.

I'd rather have a stronger sidewall for airing down and puncture resistance

A C range tire is much better for off road. Most of the big tires (40" and above) are C range. The sidewall is much more flexible to be able to wrap around rocks and grip better. You only need to go to a higher range tire if the weight of the vehicle is too great for a C range. As far as sidewall strength, the C range is fine, and the fact that it flexes more means less likely to be cut by a rock. I won't say it couldn't happen, but I do not believe an E range tire would be less likely to get cut or hold up better. If I have a choice I will always get a C range tire, and money is NOT the reason.

Ever since I started driving jeeps I’ve always put e rated tires on because I like the stiffer sidewall on road. It hasn’t impacted the off-roading at all, but I don’t do the crazy trails in the local terrain parks.

I’ll probably be switching out my factory ko2’s for E rated Cooper STT pro’s in the near future.

that’s really interesting actually. I wonder if maybe the pictures you saw were actually their race tires though?

Not sure but they looked fairly tame compared to KM3s. Looked like a street/offroad combo. I clicked the link again and it wont let me jump back into the survey. Heres what I get every couple months. They usually give me a $10 Amazon card. Cant remember how I got signed up for it. You can try to sign up here: https://bfgoodrichpanel.opinioninsight.com/portal/community_1_2_1.php

well. It’s invite only I guess, so I can‘t jump in there and try to get that survey going on my side. Does make me curious though.
