BFG KM3

Ive been looking into some new tires and really like the aggressive KM3. I was curious if there was anyone on here running these. If so what are your thoughts? How loud are they compared to KO2?

I've also been looking into KM3's. From what I gather, they are louder than KO2, but not so much louder that anyone (That I've read from) regrets the decision. And most guys get used to the noise as well.

I'm interested in how the truck feels with the tires (handling, roughness, etc) I love the aggressive look, but still not sure if the switch from K02 (or even Ridge Grapplers) would be worth it if the driving experience suffers too much.

They don't throw near as many rocks as KO2's. The KO2's are one of the worst in that aspect. The KM3 among other mud terrains with more space in between tread lugs will all be superior in the less rocks thrown department.

Noise - I would say a 20% increase all though I eventually got used to it.

Ride - E load range vs C....yes a little firmer ride but I think the thicker tread negates most of the difference.

Stones - depending on terrain I guess but again tread pattern is much wider so smaller stones will not get caught.

Size - I got schooled here because BFG makes this tire in both 315/70/17 & 35/12.50/17. I started out w/ the 315/70/17 & the actual tire mounted was at least an 1 to 1.5" shorter than the stock KO2'S. So the folks at 4WP let me trade them in on the 35/12.50/17 which were almost the same size as the stock KO2's. Basically actual vs stated tire sizes do differ between tire type, brand, mounted, rim width, etc.

High speed - highway lane changes like above 65-75mph seem a little a less stable. Again probably has to do with the thicker tread.

I have the KM3'S on my stock rims & the KO2'S on my Venomrex Rims. When the KO2's are done I will probably go with the KM3'S.

I have about 22K on a set of 37" KM3s. Quiet when new, get a little louder when worn but not too bad, a little louder than the Ridge Grapplers, although the R.G. when WELL worn are just about as loud. I had 37" R.G. on a 2017 F-250. They were OK, but after having the KM3s, I would not go back to the R.G. Traction in mud and sand is much better with the KM3s.

The KM3s are also 4# lighter in the 37" size if that matters to you.

RGs (and really any Nitto) like to break belts, but not blow the tire when you hammer them.

and if you think KM3s are noisy, you've never ridden in a truck with bias-ply swampers. ( in a REALLLLLL close second are KR3s).

Yep, the KRs are about as noisy as anything.
