I'm guessing that's because the stock tune adjusts itself to the gas it detects. To keep the driving experience consistent.

Try a 93 engine tune and you will definitely notice a difference. Especially if you have aftermarket exhaust and CAI.

A CAI, 93 octane, and a tune will give you the best mpg. I get right around 19 mpg on the highway daily.

I'd like to try a tune, but I'm just going to wait out the warranty. Risk to benefit doesn't seem worth it for me.

That's the smart play. Unfortunately I'm not smart and said "screw the warranty!" Hope I don't come to regret that. And if I do, then, oh well, I'll have to man up, take responsibility for my own actions and pay the piper. :)
