All open CAI do very little and for off-roading are terrible. Stick with stock

I guess I'll play devils advocate here. In the hayday of the gen 1 Raptor, Steeda offered a package deal that claimed 487 hp N/A using a 90mm throtle body and other bolt on goodies. If you are going to alter the factory configuration tuning is needed to keep things running right.

Yes, they sold a very expensive part, in a very expensive kit, and made very big claims. The tune is the lions share of the gains, you get rid of the throttle limiting, put good fuel in it and give it some timing. Tuning for a throttle body for anything but peak power is a huge pain, getting the drivability to be good is a trick.

Most aftermarket companies are not going to spend the time to get it right, they set it up to move under its own power, make a good peak number and the end user gets to deal with the drivability.
