Really, I wonder what happened, I know the Tuner that wrote them, haven't talked to him in about a year. Wow
SVC still works with the same tuner, but the tuner and SVC support various racing seasons etc. and it was really just deemed that they didn’t have enough time to devote to custom tunes in addition to everything else since there is only one tuner. At least that’s the general idea I got from Jeff Thompson after inquiring about how to handle tuning after the recent 6R80 recall involving updated programming.

I have the S&B intake and an SVC tuner, they work really well together. The air tube on the S&B is huge, and when you romp on it, the thing sounds almost like a tunnel ram from back in the old days. Combined with the tuner, there's an increase in performance, but I haven't been on a dyno so couldn't say for sure how much. My guess would be 15 or 20 hp max. I could probably get more by running 91 octane and setting the tuner for that.

Now I'm seeing that I might need a new tuner too if I want to get updates, interesting....

Thanks guys for the advise, I like BANKS equipment, had there programmer and headers on my '04 F150, seemed to work great. My dad had the S&B CAI on his '06 F150 and I liked the looks of it. I've heard the SVC tuner are the best for the Fords

Roush CAI and 5 star tune w/ SCT tuner. Haven’t dyno’d it but runs great no issues. I’ve noticed a little performance increase over stock intake and a little more intake sound/noise with the K&N filter. Running a spin tech exhaust. No complaints.

I’m curious what the benefits are of removing the factory upper air box from the intake system is? Some aftermarket intakes require the removal of the “intake box” (6.2L plastic box attached to throttle body). Anyone notice any benefits to this? And issues?

Did you notice it running lean with this combo? I had someone sell me their Rousch CAI really cheap and they mentioned that once they threw on the 5-star tune the AFRs were not good.

I did not notice anything, but I also had 5 star adjust for the aftermarket intake in the tune.

My understanding of the plastic box with the 6.2 on it is that it is a sort of resonator, baffle to help reduce intake noise.
