We run XL80s with SDHQ hood mounts on our truck. No wind noise and the mounts are very solid. We've got five or ten sets of these in stock along with a handful of XL80s.

We don't need to fight lol. We all offer a fair price and all take care of our customers. We share the business. Sometimes Nick gets it, sometimes I get it, sometimes it's someone else. There's enough for everybody. We personally stock Baja Designs lights and Alternative Offroad and our own CrystaLux brand. Nick is a SQHD and Diode Dynamics guy, so we each have our niches. Works out well for you guys in the end to have a few great choices.

drarin,
I cannot speak for the Gen2, but as for the Gen1 mounts from Alternative Offroad...well they are stout! I have Hella Optilux HID's mounted and NO vibration or wind noise. The mounts are 1/4 inch steel with welded and slotted washers at the bases to reinforce the mounts and allow for adjustment. (The slotted washers are on the top of the base of the mount leaving the bottom smooth).
In addition Alternative Offroad took the time to call me and let me know when I had incorrectly ordered the wrong extra whip mounts for the whips I had also ordered ...PROACTIVE customer care!

Eddie

I'll be putting the Alternative Offroad Pillar brackets on a 2012 F150 (non-raptor but they are the same mounts) tomorrow with a pair of XL80's actually come to think of it.

Follow us on facebook/instagram and we'll post photos for those curious.

The guys at alternative are nice from my dealings. The owner got back to me right away and set us up as a dealer (wish we found them sooner)

Any suggestions? The xl80 are a bit wider than some other pods...I don’t want to run afoul of the antenna. Thanks guys.

Hey Drain. Sorry this took so long but I had installed these on a customers truck tonight. Now he has a 2012 so it's slightly different, I thought he had a newer truck. He has a non-raptor as well but this might help you. I think your Raptor is setup very similar. We went with a set of Baja Designs XL-Rs for his truck. We're going to be putting amber lights in but this is during the installation.

When you do your install I recommend doing one side at a time and just disconnect one side of the strut that holds the hood up. It's not a bad idea to have a friend support it as well

Ok. I’d still like to see the 17+ version. Those pictured are not similar to the sdhq 2-piece design at all. Thanks

I can take photos of my 2015 which is the same style brackets. I'll also take photos of the brackets by themselves for ya to give you an idea. Pretty easy bolt on for the 2015+ The 2014 and older take a bit more work because there isn't as much room in there for the back bolt

Crap sorry Drarin COMPLETELY forgot to take photos last night. We got involved in installing lights on a Jeep JK. I'll get some photos tonight for ya (I want to add them to our site anyway)
