I'm assuming that its the axle tube that's bent not the axle shaft. With bearings on both sides of the axle tube, it would be really hard to bend the axle and not the tube. The only times I have seen that is under hard offroading, and while the truck is marketed as an offroad vehicle, it's still a production truck.

$550 isn't right for replacing an axle housing shaft though. Did the dealer diagnose the problem, or did you just tell him you had a bent axle and wanted it replaced?

I bent my axle shaft before... It wasn't too expensive to replace either, I believe the axle itself was under $200? Outlaw fixed it in under an hour.

Wasn't sure what I hit that caused it to bent, but she was bent alright! Wouldn't roll straight on the floor once we pulled it out.

I also agree that it takes some pretty hard off roading to do it, or one serious impact.

Let me know if you can get it covered. I just bent my mine on the passenger side yesterday.

It's all about finding the right dealer... Does anybody have any GOOD experience with warranty claims in NorCal???

I'm not sure if he still works there. But I know a guy at a dealership who got my heavily modified 600 whp mustang gt covered when I toasted the limited slip at the track. I can't share the dealership publicly for obvious reasons.

I'm going to ping him and see if he can help me out.

Whenever I tear up something always try and get the aftermarket HD version. Just wish the 1800 dollar POS Sunroof had a aftermarket HD version LOL!!!

you have to pay to play. If you guys can't afford it knock it off. The truck's are very capable of off roading with in reason drive it like a regular f150 and I drive my regular f150's hard and you shouldn't have any problems. If everyone runs in with I bent this and warranty should cover it Ford will not even be able to help out the legitimate claims. This is just my opinion be realistic guys.
