I hope for your sake that your Insurance does not pull the current market price of the rig and try to pull a fast one on you . Good luck .

sucks they aren't totaling it, but at least you're getting lots of new goodies with the rebuild.

Better plan on keeping it for over a decade though lol. Even at 10 years old these $50k+ trucks should still be worth a reasonable amount, but that frame replacement is going to tank the value, and people don't like to pay any extra for aftermarket mods. So long story short, drive that thing into the ground and enjoy it! lol

My thoughts exactly. I'm not to worried about resale value. I'm kind of seeing it like one of my race motorcycles, I wreck those bikes all the time. I replace frames, fairings, and all kinds of parts. I know Im gonna keep the bikes so I dont worry about selling them. I know this truck is my daily driver but its also a toy. I drive that truck like stole it. Funny thing I asked the insurance adjuster what if I totalled it tomorrow. Would you still give me full retail value. He said yes, so I plan on keeping it till it dies.

Amazing how many votes for the "Total" . . . throw away/replace it.
Without actually inspecting it . . assumptions can lead us in the wrong direction.
I'm not in the camp of - 'Don't buy it if it has been in the bodyshop'
I believe that knowledgeable guys with modern tools/equipment can build it better than new.
Let us know if it is 'tighter' after than before
:happy3:

It's funny that you write that stepwise. In the process of tearing it apart, the body shop found a few things that had to have been done wrong by the factory. For example. One of the fuel lines was running underneath the bed squished between the bed and the frame. That was just one of a few. If do have to say it's pretty cool seeing this truck torn apart. It's almost finished. The shop has to repaint the whole truck. They had trouble trying to blend areas. The molten orange is a 3 stage paint. Which cost a fortune to paint. Insurance is footing the bill though. Look what arrived on my door step last week. 37" grabbers! The shop is doing a great job. They spent 2 hours today going over everything they did to the truck. These guys really are experts at what they do. Here's some pics. I've got a lot of parts to still put on the truck. Deavers, bumps top kit, etc. Fender flares and grill are being painted satin black to match the add stealth bumper going on. Maybe 2 more weeks. I'm dying without my truck. I've been driving a 2001 nissan altima with no heater. And it's freezing outside. Makes me appreciate remote start. Kind of funny all the random stuff the shop had to build just to disassemble. Like brackets to lift the engine out. The engine doesn't have any hooks or anything to cherrie pick it out.

Make sure you get the lifetime guarantee from insurance company in writing. Good chance they will drop u from coverage at some point in the future. Or raise your premiums so high it will force u to go elsewhere. Then it will be hard to recover.
