I have to admit, it is a one-of-a-kind Raptor!

From all of the posts I have read, he did his research and built the kind of truck he wanted even though he did not follow the norms on this forum.

That is what I was looking to do, something different. I have no use for a desert runner, so I built what I can use.

Your right on the expense part, could have bought 2 for the amount I have tied up in this one. Wife reminds me of that every time she rides with me.

My wife stopped asking me how much I spend on my cars/trucks. It makes for a happier marriage...

Mine doesn't care so much if I spend it on my cars, since I let her drive them on occasion. She just doesn't like the truck since she says it is too high. She is a little 5'1" Latina quite a jump for her in heels, lol.

I live in Houston as well. Look if you like it who the hell cares what everyone else thinks. Its your money and your truck. Get what you want. Different is cool. I pick mine up Friday. It will look more like what most guys like on here, but that's what I like. Yours is definitely different. I am convinced there are more raptors in Houston than any other city. Guy I bought my 18 from last month said they sell more raptors in Texas than everywhere else in the country combined. I believe it.

Raptors are a dime a dozen in Colo. Four vehicles at the local mountain biking trailhead this weekend. Three of them were Raptors. My record is seeing 5 on the road in a 2 mile drive. So common no one does the "Raptor wave". Get carpal tunnel doing that shit around here. Of course that pales in comparison to the number of Wranglers around here.

Damn straight jaz. They are everywhere. That is why we all try to make our different. There is not another gen 1 that looks like my 13 that I know. Trying to do the same thing with my 18. I bet 66% of the ones I see are stock or very close to it. Those are like just regular f150's now. Gotta spend some $ to make them different.

This made me laugh because my wife is lucky if she is 5'0" on a tall day. She did not want me to do the 37s because of the height, but I convinced her it was going to just be an inch taller! (I forgot to mention the Geisers/Deavers)

Now that mine is pretty much done, she likes it WAY better than my noisy V8, rough-riding, loud-tire SCAB Gen 1.

I would believe that there are more Raptors here than other areas. I see them very often. The good thing is mine stands out.
