I also did the Tepui tent.. I did mine on a trailer since I have a bed rack and more.. However I have also figured it could also sit on a truck rack mounted above all the stuff in the bed...

We have one of the Maggiolina Autohome tents on our Land Rover and it's an amazing piece of equipment! It would be a rock solid roof tent for the Raptor. They are pretty spendy but are super comfortable for 2 people (we've slept in this one 11 straight nights and I didn't have any back or shoulder discomfort at all)! it sets up and takes down in about 1 minute, and is completely waterproof and windproof...

I had thought about mounting it on the Raptor with one of the high truck bed frames, so it'd be up off the bed and still keep the bed completely free...Or you could mount it on a set of Thule bars/mounts over the cab...

Nice Land Rover - love the exo-cage on it :)

I've got the AutoHome Columbus on the Raptor - similar to the Maggiolina but opens in a wedge shape on gas shocks instead of the crank handle with the flat roof. I went for the Carbon Fibre option to keep the weight down and then got a bit carried away building an obscenely heavy roof rack. :)

Just stumbled accross this thread looking for something else but thought I would add some pictures of our recent camp outs.

No offense to anyone but I see the sign in the picture and all I could think was this poor basterds going to hit an IED.. The guys that did the Carson pre-run thought they had it tough... One IED will ruin your whole weekend..

When I made the clarification in my last post, I came very close to commenting on your ignorance but I thought I should give you the benefit of the doubt. Clearly, I was wrong and you are as ignorant as I originally thought. Enjoy life in your bubble!

It was a joke but my political position is we have no business in that part of the world. These people have been trying to kill each other off for centuries. We are not going to stop them. All we will end up doing is getting a lot of young American men and women killed for no good reason..

While I agree that westerners being involved in the politics of the Middle East will not affect change in their culture, that's not really what your original post was about.

The UAE and Dubai in particular, is one of the largest business hubs in the world, is probably the most "westernized" part of the Middle East (or at least tolerant and welcoming to westerners) and the culture is very different when compared to Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel etc.

Laurie has about as much of a chance hitting an IED in the deserts of UAE as some of the SoCal members would in Mojave.

All I said in my original post was the sign made me think that it was from that part of the world where you would hit an IED. It is what it made me think of.. The writing looks like something you would see in any country in that area... I assume if you go drive in the desert you know what your doing, but not always..
