Well to run 37's like some I the guys on here you would have to be on the top perch in the front in order for it not to rub now if you were to get the RPG stage 4 kit or just the new fox 3.0 shocks you can adjust those as well to accommodate for the larger tires
Yep top perch is a must, and you will definitely be cutting fender wells for clearance. But I wouldn't say the Stage 4 is a must. Bassass? Yup! But a must to run 37"s? Nah.

Stephen if I'm in your shoes and I want to run 37"s and I plan to enjoy the hell out of the thing in the dirt, in addition to the RPG tie rods and UCAs up front, and moving to the top perch I invest in their stage 3 kit as well, and probably chose the HD springs. Talk with Jar about the HD part of that (he might suggest standard springs, but that will depend on what you guys discuss), but either way you're going to want a better spring to handle the size and weight of those big tires, and you'll want some frame support/protection to help the springs do their work.

Hope that helps!

That is immensely helpful. I intend to upgrade the entire suspension, rear and front. One more thing, in your running the upgraded suspension (front and rear) from RPG, was your power OEM or modified and if modified, how and to what extent? As to cutting into the wheel wells and/or fenders, I'd rather stick with tires that fit the OEM body even after the suspension upgrades. Thanks in advance. Stephen

Glad to help!

As for power... I have done absolutely nothing. And I have the "boat anchor" 5.4L. In my opinion the power of the stock Raptor, be it 5.4 or 6.2 is more than enough to take full advantage of the upgraded suspension. Stuff like what you see in that RPG video are a perfect example why. Any more power than what we can already push with mods like those, and you're in a performance territory that demands a full cage, full 5point harness, full helmet and neck collar, bigger stronger brakes...

This is strictly my opinion, and I reserve the right to change it at any time ;) but the stock Raptor is already an extremely capable consumer level play toy. Add mods like the RPG stuff and you've elevated it to the level where even a professional trophy truck driver comes away grinning from ear to ear. Throw another *** horsepower and torque at the thing and you've created a race ready truck, that demands race level skill and safety. Your margin for error has evaporated.

Long answer to a simple question, I know. Sorry for rambling :)

So I want to be clear as to what is in the stage 4 kit. It's essentially just a rear end mod, then the 3.0 coil overs up front will be more? And if so, why not put together a staged kit that include UCAs and tie rods w those coil overs?

OK guys...here's the deal. I just got back. When I found these guys they were more than happy to extend me an offer to ride and drive the RPG rig!!! After my arm was twisted for about .02 seconds I handed my keys to Jarret and followed Corey out to the rig.

Corey decided to take me in the stretch of road that was in the video from earlier this week. Good idea...I will be able to see 1st hand how smooth it is...because it looks smooth in the vid, right? Wrong!! We hit some things at 80, true story, that I would think of hitting above 30! I will admit I probably wouldn't hit it at 80 even if I had upgraded shocks. It's a tad over my ability. Just goes to show how hard these guys test their products and how skilled they are!! So after a few trips up and down this stretch there were a few observations I had. 1) there was no "slamming" of the bumps 2) harsh impacts felt in the cab. When I push my truck those are the 2 things that slow me down.

Then Corey let me take a spin from behind the wheel. I decided to head to a stretch of road that I have driven a couple times to compare my ride to the 3.0 ride. I wasn't about to push to level Corey did, just enough to see the difference between the stokers and 3.0's. It took me a couple minutes to adjust and trust the suspension but once I did it was quite rewarding! I had just gone through this road a few minutes before in my truck. I did about 25 in my truck and it was smooth as silk. Anything above that translates into a harsh ride and the front end coming off the ground drooping out and slqmming into the next whoop or bump. Taking it in the RPG rig I did about 45...smooth as silk!!! Absolutely no effort and no harshness relayed to the cab!!! For me that was the most telling part for me, just because I had some previous experience to relate to.

After the RPG crew left I took a trip down the first stretch of road just for fun. See how fast I could go and feel comfortable. It became obvious to me that there were a couple parts that were just too much for me to handle safety above 30. Not saying it can't be done just that I don't have the skills. Other sections I was able to get to 50 but I was about 80-90% of my ability.

The coolest thing about the setup was I was able to drive twice as fast using the same amount of effort! And that was after Corey took me on Mr. Toad's wild ride!! I'm used to setting up my motorcycle suspension to do one thing...go fast and absord impqcts. If I slow down the rise is too harsh. That makes it tough to ride slow. The setup with the Fox 3.0's make the ride better whether you go slow or fast. You don't have to be Robbie Gordon to get the suspension to work right! I think for a vehicle like the Raptor that is key.

So now to find $4700...

Yeah that was a great review. Gonna have to see about a stage 4 for my birthday gift to myself.
