Read the truck’s manual, negative shouldn’t be on the terminal. Yes, older vehicles could be on the terminals but not with the new battery management system.

That is hooked up correctly such that all the in/out amps are measured by the ammeter in that plastic block.Edit - this is how I initially installed my tender. The wire my finger rests on is the negative from my tender. Should have clarified it is not "on" the negative post itself.View attachment 383332
