Battery replacement recommendations

Can't tell you about the tune, but I made one of those "contraptions" with a 9V battery connector wired to a cigarette plug adaptor. Works for my '10, just have to make sure to have ignition turned to accessory and have stereo, AC, fan, etc. turned off.

@Irunone Thanks for the info, that "contraption" is what I was thinking about! I have seen them advertised over the years and wondered if they really worked.

Looked at Sears online and there's none available in Colorado stores or for shipping! Went to our local Sears and they didn't have a single one. I could not find a service person in the automotive department to ask if they are discontinued. Does anyone know what's up with the DieHard Platinum?

Don't sell them anymore. Now they're gold.

Just replaced my battery with a Sears platinum (made by Odyssey). Was told by the tech that they are being d.c.'d and replaced with a less expensive version made my East Penn Mfg. Look around as at least a couple of stores in my area still had them as of of earlier this week.

That sucks. Glad I got one while I could. It was a good deal on a great battery.

Odyssey Extreme Series

I replaced mine today with the Odyssey Extreme Series 65-PC1750T. I just left the truck running and put a welding glove over the positive cable end as I disconnected it. Took five minutes to switch out and didn't lose any settings.

Are those of you that have switched to the platinum/odyssey seeing any difference in the truck operation. My stock 4 year old battery ****** out good with 800CCA. The reason I ask is because it seems like the the stk batt does not last so well.

Just picked up the Platnium yesterday. Now I am ready for the cold!!!! They still had one left in Elmira Ny if your close and need one.

but so far i have never had a problem with my Motorcraft even in -40

Mine worked until suddenly it didn't. I threw in a Sears Platinum agm battery made by odyssey.
It works again.
