I was under the hood checking fluids yesterday and I noticed the top of the battery was a bit wet on top. Upon close inspection it seems seal between the positive battery terminal and the case failed. It took a lot of time and a lot of baking soda paste to neutralize the acid on the cable clamp. About half of the tin on the cable clamp is now gone. Hope I don't get a lot of corrosion.

Pretty much sucks to have a 16 month old battery fail like that. I replaced it with a Sear Diehard Platinum (Oydessy). That new battery seemed quite a bit heavier than the Ford Motorcraft.

Also, as a public service note, the Sears website says they don't have a platinum to fit a 2013 Raptor but the standard group 65 battery fits perfectly...joe

I'm in the same boat and will have to take care of this shortly as well. Does anyone know if the SuperStart Extreme batteries (O'Reilly Auto Parts) have the same size breakdown as the Die Hard Platinum? I've heard that it's the same battery, just re-branded.

They are not the same. The SuperStart (middle) is the same as a "DieHard Advanced Gold AGM Battery" (left) and is a lesser power/quality battery compared to the DieHard Platinum (right) made by Odyssey (bottom).

No kidding. I appreciate the heads-up.

Is the DieHard Platinum a sealed design? EDIT: Looked it up and it is.

Just ordered an Odyssey PC1750 for my Raptor. I ran 2 2150's on my boat for many years. The dedicated stereo battery would run the stereo with three large amps all day at the river in extreme temps. I've also ran two 1750's in a cummins diesel for 8 years now and still going strong. Those batteries cranked strong in sub zero temps on multiple occasions. I even left the lights on for eight hours while skiing on a 7 degree day. The batteries cranked over without a hitch that day. Only battery i'll use.

Odyssey has 20% off until the end of the month with code SEMA2014. Total on a 65-PC1750T-A is $231.66 with free shipping.

Northstar AGM 65. ****** lead, gold plated terminals, glass mat,

All made in USA, great technology, best there is in my opinion compared to what's out there when comparing all the specs and build quality.

Totally sweet!

I put 2 of them in my 6.7 Scorpion diesel and in my old 7.3 Diesel, and it spun the motors like a drill bit in the -15 degree winters up where I live , even after cold soaking.

Awesome battery, one of the best for reserve capacity ( think lights) and I just totally trust them out here in the cold where batteries are stressed as hard as they can be.
