I can't tell you how many times I have straitened mine out from the sand dunes. My Ford Excursion works well just driving up on top of it. But in next few months will be making a new bumper and skid plate so I don't have this problem anymore.

I reinforced my with some aluminum angle on the backside like the ford racing one. Coat $10 in material. Before I couldn't hammer mine back out, now it retains it's shape really well. First one lasted one trip to the dunes, second has lasted 3 trips with minimal bending.

Just roll it over and it flattens back out

The TMX skid holds up really well. It has been to two TRR's and little Sahara with minimal damage, unlike my stock bumper and fender.

I am pretty sure that the skidplate is mild steel. In any case, since it bends so easily it can be pounded back into shape with equal ease. Hammer time. I wouldn't consider buying a new one until it's been pounded back several times and cracks are evident.

I'm 90% positive it was that first big rut that at the beginning of the run. It got just about everyone, I just must have hit it a weird angle. For your viewing pleasure.

Myself and a few others have asked TMX to produce a full coverage skid that would better protect the LCA mounts. Its in the works and they are calling it Beta II.

If be interested in that. Put my name on the list
