XJRguy is from NJ and lives in SoCal. He meant well and actually was trying to help you by encouraging you to not post about gun ownership/usage on a thread that can be read by the public. I believe his concern is that there's a whole thread about a bunch of trucks that are going to drive from Barstow-to-Primm and in the thread it was mentioned that gun shooting might happen. That would allow a reader to infer that guns will be carried. If any law enforcement types were reading about this large group of pickup trucks making this run carrying guns it might be an activity/event that they could pay special interest to.
I believe that was his concern and I believe his concern is reasonable and considerate since he was only looking out for others (AFAIK he's not going to go on that run). In this very gun-unfriendly state that's always looking to reduce and eliminate gun rights, his concern is actually a good thing IMO. And I KNOW he meant no harm when he expressed it.
This is exactly correct and several others have also mentioned this and understood my intentions.
If Quick Draw McGraw wanted to do the responsible thing about wanting to know the facts about where to shoot and where it's legal he would have called/contacted the appropriate authorities instead of consulting a Ford SVT Raptor board.
There is an entire member only forum dedicated to the questions he posed in this thread that is private and not shown to guests. That would have been the ideal place to ask that question (rather than an open forum and in lieu of calling law enforcement/Ranger station/etc), but noob here didn't bother to do that and publicized it.
Gun laws are so screwed up in California you need a book just to stay abreast of what is right and what is wrong.
It's very easy to get into a tight spot in this state even IF you are legal!! ****ups HURT the people who support the second amendment and who FIGHT and write to lawmakers to keep gun ownership legal.
I WRITE/FAX/EMAIL/CALL lawmakers in Cali EVERYTIME our rights are threatened and I support the gun rights we have left. Do you TRAPTOR?
The authorities are online and they do pay attention to **** like this.
Anyway, to AII Racing, I apologize if your thread went OT due to this. As the majority here can see, I was looking out for your run and your group. I don't think you guys want any additional scrutiny from law enforcement or rangers on your large gathering.
