Balancing and Beadlock

Those of you who beadlock how do you balance your tires?

I've some shops won't do it because they won't mess with tires that are beadlocked and I've heard that some people put some sort of medium in the tire to act like tire weight.

My factory bead locks weren't hard to balance at all, I did them on a road force machine myself and they took less weight to balance than a lot of car wheels and they are better balanced than the stock 2010-2011 wheels I took off, I used to have a very slight shaking in the steering wheel at 70+ mph, now it's completely smooth all the way to 100 mph (my truck is still limited to 100)

They aren't true beadlock unless kitted so make sure they know that. If you say beadlock when they aren't ... they won't touch em for fear of liability. (some shops are dumb that way)

Or just remove the ring and take it in lol. takes 5 mins. :p My shop balanced them no problem.

Outlaw Offroad can balance your beadlocks for you, they are over in Santa Ana just off the 55.

Damn, 10 ounces per wheel and tire, the most I had to use to balance one of my beadlocks was 3 ounces and the other three took about 1 ounce

I had mixed results with the poly beads. On a smooth road they were great but in Chicago once you hit a small pothole or a expansion joint in the road it would nock them out of balance and then the wheel would go into a death wobble for the next mile or so before it would smooth back out.

In Chicago we don't have a mile of smooth road. I ended up dumping the beads and just having them balanced with the road force.

Hard part was most shops around me wouldn't touch anything of 33" for their tire machine.

One additional note. The beads don't fit through the factory valve stems with the tpms.
