Weatherstrip is in place, and appears to be working. It looks to me like the water runs out of the front side of the rails.

Wilson - I'm in the garage installing my vortex flaps right now. And trying to get this garage door opener on the visor to work.

is the cover sitting down on the weather strip tight enough so that the bed cap seals are sitting down tight?

I need some help, I want to carry my bicycles in my truck with the tonneau up, using fork mounts. I am down to the roll-x or the bakflip F1...

So here's a question... Is it possible with either to actually mount the fork mount directly to the bottom of either of these, so when they are in the open position they expose them for the bikes?

This is the type of fork mount I'm talking about: RockyMounts 9-mm Clutch Truck Bed Bike Carrier - Fork Mount - Bolt On RockyMounts Truck Bed Bike Racks RKY013

I would be tapping directly into the aluminum with high grade bolts. I'm curious as to the width of the slats on the rollx. I do like the look of it better.

i want to do the same thing. im wondering if i add a metal plate or create a wider base plate for underneath the panel in my f1 will it make the truck bed carrier more secure... truck is already big around town and a hitch mount makes it too long..

thanks

Bike mounts on RollX and BakFlip

:welcome:Hi Gentlemen(or not):33:
As you are most likely aware, the BakFlip panels are all a foam core. I would recommend good strong adhesive only for the bottom side of the BakFlip panels. The Roll-X slats are about 13/4" wide and 1/4" thick but they are solid aluminum. You would need to be concerned about the vinyl covering if you were inserting screws from the underside of the slat. i have been discussing this same bicycle mount item with another FRF member. We have been discussing a small plate mounted to the "inside lips" of the bottom of the slat which has a couple of different levels. You almost have to see it up close to completely understand. I will try and remember the FRF member's name or maybe he will read this post by us. He is already working on this same issue and actually has his RollX already. I will keep you posted with any further developments...:grd:

Installed my bed tred and roll-x today. Getting the roll-x adjusted properly was the biggest pain. I think one of the rails was bent during shipping. I'm going to let it settle in an see what happens when it rains/ snows here next. Morrie I'll call you if I have any problems.

When I installed the actual roll-x the springs are actually going over the plastic knobs on both sides in part 5 of Birdmans install instructions (bulkhead knobs). I don't think this is how it's suppose to be but I had no choice seeing I had to get the roll-x cover as close as possible to the bulkhead or it wouldn't snap in on the rails near the tailgate.

I am a bit concerned about the conflict you are having between the the fitment of the knobs and springs. Would it be possible to send me a couple of pics so I can see what is happening. Please send them to [email protected] so I review tham with the Factory.
Thanks,
morrie:rocking:
