Thank you! thank you! thank you!
IT WORKED! what I did wrong was I grounded the black wire to metal.

But I didn’t use the wire with the fuse attached to it. Do you think, I should rewire & use the wire with the fuse or is there not a difference? Sorry man, I’m a noob when it comes to wires.
Thank you F150Jack

not a prob. I'm no expert but from what I have read/ researched/been told, u do not need the fuse in the line. you should be just fine i just left mine in there for now but will prob change it out to no fuse when I clean up all the wiring after I get fog lights and wire everything else up.

I was in same boat as you when I started, wasn't much info on wiring the A post lights for beginners. I watched youtube videos and had to read threw crap tons of comments and ask lots of questions just to get to the point of the actual wiring.

grounding to metal is fine as long as you confirm you have a solid ground with either a multi-meter or voltage tester. However, there’s a right way and many wrong ways to do it. bad crimps are probably the number one cause of these kinds of issues.

Yes, you should wire in a fuse. Fuses are meant to be a deliberate weakest link, so that, should there be a problem like a short, the fuse will pop and cut power, rather than say... melt your wire insulation and start a car-b-que <-- I have seen this happen.

Doing the same install now and I got the wiring harness from Apollo Optics. I've wired it to the switch and it works but there's an extra ground wire and white wire I can't figure out what to do with. Is it to wire the dimming feature? If so how do I do that? Any help is appreciated!
