So BJ has posted many times in this thread yet remain silent whenever anyone says they had no success with the tail light wires. Same experience I just had. It’s time they change the instructions to the trailer harness.

Tomorrow I will attempt to redo it this way. Also, after pulling the tail light out it’s very difficult if not impossible to get it perfectly lined up again. A real mess.

BJ who?

No reason to pull out the tail light when you connect to the trailer harness.

My bezel screws were super tight and I stripped two trying to loosen. Thought I had the wrong size Allen wrench after the first one, couldn’t believe how easy these things strip.

Tried an easy out no luck. Drilled off the head and used a pair of vise grips to get them out.

Resisted the urge to over tighten the new ones...

I went through the same ordeal with an RMR red dot on a rifle. I found a new optic I wanted there more, and found a new home for the RMR. This is about the time I remembered that I really torqued those screws and I used red thread locker. Apparently, I did not need both. First time I used the easy outs since I bought them probably a decade ago - so they did their job, I went 10 years without stripping a bolt head. Miraculously, I did no damage to the sight. screw head gone, but once it was gone i was easily able to remove the body of the screw.

Maybe some anti-seize would help here, since they’re pretty exposed to the elements.

@Maxxed Out

Just curious, did you over tighten these bolts or did they from BD like that? [emoji4]

They will warranty those if the bolts snapped off when unscrewing and they are brand new
