If you have a Gen2, which I assume you do, why not go with the Baja Designs fog kit. You can do the sportsmen and upgrade things here/there if you need.

Then you can run the S2s and Squadron Sports for fogs, as long as you keep them aimed towards the ground you're good.

Or what a lot of my customers do is we customize the product for them. we'll do say a Pro Kit. Change out one of the Pro squadrons to amber as well. Then run them all on 3 switches and you can pick/choose what you run. S2 for normal driving then you have clear and amber choices for additional lighting. The amber is a great choice for poor weather.

You can't buy it that way direct from Baja but we can customize that style package for ya (or really any stocking dealer can do that). I tend to carry every lens Baja Carries for this reason. I rarely sell a kit AS IS.

so are squadron pro wide cornering and driving combo a little too harsh for the streets of san diego? asking for a friend lol.

Definitely. The Squadron Pro emits 4,900 lumens. The brightest you can really get away with on road is the S2 Sport in Wide Cornering, maybe the S2 Pro Wide Cornering if you aim it down a bit.

what about the s2 sport? I plan to aim them way low, figure if I'm spending $1k+ on some lights I might as well get the most use out of them lol.

S2 Sport Wide Cornering would work nicely!

would you recommend just the wide cornering or to combine them with the driving/combo lights?

As @Nick@Apollo-Optics said, the Squadron Pro would not be street friendly. The S2 Sport in Wide Cornering is considered street-friendly when aimed correctly. We would not recommend combining them with Driving/Combo lights and running both on the street. You'll definitely blind other drivers.

As Bailey said, for street use, only run the S2 in Wide Cornering and aimed appropriately. Any other light or beam pattern will be overly bright to oncoming traffic.

Again, these nights are not DOT legal, but the S2 in Wide Cornering is considered “street friendly.”

it's still in the air, i think i like the fordraptorlights mount/bezel a little more. i think ideally i would run the fordraptorlights bezel, with a sport wide cornering and sport spot.

yeah, I'm thinking about buying a set of covers for the wide cornering sports, do you know how hard or easy it is to swap the cover with the fordraptorlights bracket?

We offer the FRL kits with a variety of Squadron Series options in both Sport and Pro in all of the lense styles including amber.

We find most customers who get the FRL kits opt for the Amber covers on the KC's (it's a cover so you don't HAVE to run them amber, they bolt onto the clear lights) and then they opt for a Driving/Combo clear and Amber Driving/Combo for the Baja Designs Pros. Each light is on it's own switch so you can choose your best lighting for wherever you are.

Others get Amber for Driving/Combo and Clear for Spots. That's another popular choice.

KC for normal everyday running (or S2 if you get the Baja Designs Fog Kit) and then you have hte option for pairs 2/3.

If you get the Baja Designs Fog kit, I'd recommend getting another S2/Squadron splitter and another upfitter harness. So you can run all 3 on independent switches. Out of the box the Baja Designs kits operate on TWO switches (so you are always running a pair of them on one switch).

We stock the splitters and they are available on our site. Just shoot me a PM if you need help finding the accessories.

The FRL kit comes with the wire harness and allows you 3 switches out of the box, so you are good there.

I'm interested in the FRL kit as you noted with the
KC amber and the BD driving combo sports. I have a gen 2 and want just basic lighting. I went on your site and only see the BD light setups, no FRL? Can you please pm me a quote?

thanks, Dennis
