GEN 2 B-day coming up...wife needs ideas

Gentlemen (I use that term loosely, @Oldfart and @smurfslayer )

My bday is in a few days, and like most of us...I buy everything I want, when I want it, so bdays and holidays are tough on the old lady...she enacted a buying freeze after Halloween for this very reason.

I have a 2018 with all sorts of stuff, but I'm curious what item I NEED that I don't have yet. Something off-road focused would be cool as I'm building it up to be a camping rig. Any ideas of must have gadgets for the truck or to compliment the lifestyle? I was thinking a train horn and some Buick fender emblems, but I can't find them in foil neon pink...

Under $500...thinking maybe a CO2 setup...what you think? What's on your wish list?

RC went from DC brushed motors, nimh batteries, and AM/FM radios to three phase brushless AC motors, AC motor controllers, lipo batteries, and 2.4 ghz radios.

The difference is astonishing.

Please, just don't get a POS traxxas though! There are better vehicles out there that dont need parts upgrades right out of the box!

What do you recommend? I’ve been looking at RC trucks! Went down that rabbit hole yesterday. I will not race it. I’ll just jack around with it when we go camping and such. Looking for easy. Found the Redcat 4wd lipo trucks and an Altair truck with lipo charger etc for like $180. I don’t need another hobby, just something to play with like a big kid!

That's a great truck, I got that one for my wife. It's fast and extremely tough. Just don't get the Mega version, it's the lower end brushed version.
