I was referred to this forum from some guys on the ecoboost forum, I was told the raptor crowd had axle wrap issues and was wanting some guidance, I have a 2012 f150 ecoboost with a 4 inch rancho lift and 35s and experience severe wheel hop and banging up through my center console when on hard acceleration especially now that it is tuned, the dealer and shop said they couldnt find anything wrong etc, basically are no help.

I found one other person with the issue here is the video

Any help or things to look for would be greatly appreciated, I was told the raptors had similar issues and was looking for a solution. Thanks again for yalls time

Does your lift include lift blocks between the leaf springs and the axel? The main way guy's reduce axel hop on the Raptor is to get +2" or +3" springs and eliminate the stock lift block/bump stop. Most aftermarket Raptor leafsprings come with a bump stop plate.

Yes it has 4 inch blocks in the back, Do you think it is twisting enough to cause the transfer case to bang under the cab? It feels like it thuds under center console.

I have no problem getting aftermarket springs, I had heard national spring was good.

Thank you for the response

Here is what the guy said on his youtube video

they checked everything.traction bars solved the problem. if i accelerate hard over train tracks it will still make contact with the floor and maybe thud once or twice but much less intense.
i only did that to see if they solved the problem. i dont try and make it happen anymore and it seems fine now..The clearance between floor and transfer case is less on newer models than it ever used to be. First they changed transmission mount to raptor mount/ didnt fix it.

just seems crazy that more people dont have transfer case banging, unless the certain lift changed it.

I noticed when under the truck the transfer case has a slight tilt to it, is that normal?

Search for traction bars. Not too frequently used with raptors because more for street use vs. off-road use but is about the only option to help against axle wrap.. Replacing the leafs with heavy duty ones does not help, at least for me it did not.

Really, did yours sound like it does in video? did you ever have any banging under truck like transfer case hit cab?

I would hate to buy the leaf pack to get rid of blocks and still need trac bars to get rid of issue, seems strange that this issue isn't more common.

Well unfortunately a lifted F150 and a Raptor are very different in terms of why one or the other may have issues with wheel hop. I had a rancho lift on a Bronco may years ago and traction bars were the fix I needed but a Raptor is very different and traction bars have worked for some but can be somewhat limiting better luck with uprated springs. Since you have a F150 4" rancho lift I think a set of traction bars would be a quick and not to expensive thing to try.

In terms of springs some of us have had issues with National and it seems that Deavers are the preferred brand as of now. Not many of us are big fans of lift kits here in terms of the Raptor but some of us have had fun with them on other trucks in the past. Good luck with this one.

Traction bars are definitely the way to go. They will help keep everything planted. Ever see those big diesel trucks that are lifted 100 inches lol? They all run them.

Ill contact pauls, I was hoping to stay away from traction bars,

So yall think that the banging under neath the truck is just from alot of axle wrap/wheel hop causing the tcase to twist and hit the floorboard?
