Unclear why someone would want to pull their dash apart when they can deactivate or reactivate auto stop/start in 20 seconds through the OBD2 port with the device from 4dtech.

Or even the fact the Autostop Eliminator is now available as an OBD port device, too.

Unclear to me why anybody would buy anything for this issue when simply taking two seconds to unplug connector does the same thing.

Obviously there are enough suckers or shills that keep posting about this thing that it's worth the $100 to some people. Somebody else made this sliding bezel thing that kept the button pushed down or whatever.

I don't see any difference between free methods of Forscan or unplugging the trailer plug as being any worse than splicing third party wiring into your start/stop electrical switch.

I don't see any difference between free methods of Forscan or unplugging the trailer plug as being any worse than splicing third party wiring into your start/stop electrical switch.

So if I pull a trailer 40 times a year I’m supposed to climb under the dash and unplug the wire 40 times then plug it back in 40 times? Or spice into the trucks wiring? I’ll gladly drop a $100 ($75 on sale) all day long for the convenience of disabling the auto stop start from the OBD2 1 time and be done.

Obviously you don’t use a trailer very often. If I unplugged it every time I needed to pull a trailer that plug Would be worn out in a year. This truck eats a $100 bucks, what the big deal people spend more on tailgate stickers. So you don’t need it cool but why does that make me a sucker/shill? It works as described; It can be done both ways some are better for others. I love how intolerance has now spread to how people disable there start stop buttons. Are you by chance a liberal? Haha

I have the eliminator installed on my 19.
One of the first things I did. Did not take long to install.
My reason for going this route is because the autostop button on my dash still works and I can use autostop if I choose.
It stays where I last have it set instead of defaulting to on everytime I restart the vehicle.
Simply put... for those that cant see a reason for not just Jerry rigging something.
I like all the equipment and buttons in my vehicle to remain functional

a question for you all who have the gizmo to turn off the auto stop start by default. If you change drive modes to sport, m&s, rock crawl, Baja or mall/starbucks, does the auto stop start stay off, or does it turn on when you swap drive modes on the truck?

The 4dtech device loaded through the OBD2 disables it irrespective of drive mode, or reenables it back to factory condition. For me, I sometimes drive in normal mode and just got tired of trying to remember to manually disabling it with the dash switch. If someone drives 100% in Sport mode, etc., there’s no need to circumvent the factory settings as that mode disables it. I also tow, so I chose the 4dtech as an easy way around it, and the $ Is well worth the convenience for me.
