My opinion and only that...if you need to chain up your 4x4 Raptor, you probably should not be driving in the conditions and the roads will probably be closed to travel anyway.

Not so in Oregon and Northern California on I-5. If pulling a trailer, even something small, they will require at least one chain on the trailer and chains on the pulling vehicle. There might be only an inch of snow.

I think a sock is good for only one thing and a good set of chains for your truck is the way to go.
Maybe true, but the sock is much easier to install and would be much smoother on the pavement.

On pavement use is what my op was targeting.
