BigJ, I'm not familiar with the PE trail Bob was talking about, if i remember him saying correctly, it's going to start at Fort Churchill State Historic Park and go from there, I think it might go out towards Fallon (East).

Here is where Bob and I started our run last Saturday (39.593817,-119.671032) and this is around the area we ended the run (39.641058,-119.299815) (About 2 hours, with one 30 minute lunch break).

So from the end point, he stated its a 26 mile drive, which according to Google maps looks to be Fort Churchill State Historic Park (41 minutes south).

From Fort Churchill State Historic Park, I'm not sure which direction the PE runs, I'm sure both east and west.

Here is the Safeway we topped off at:
Safeway Fuel Station
2808 Vista Boulevard, Sparks, NV

I think this might be a good meeting point, so we can all top off, grab water/food/fuel and head out by 10:30am.

Yes, if other members are staying the night, I will for sure stay the night and throw a couple brews back. I know Brew Brothers is a cool little brewery in one of the Casino/Hotels. But if people want to head home afterwards, then I'm down to head home too.

But just looking at the points and trails Bob and I ran, and looking at Fort Churchill State Historic Park, looks to be some good stuff around there. I think the 8/4 run will be a bit of an exploratory trip too, getting more of a feel of what is out there and plan more trips.

Sorry I don't have more info, I'm kinda winging this with Bobs help. :)

Great stuff Vanilla! I'm in.

aaron, I'm sorta kinda thinking of building onto this event and adding in some camping after we finish up with the Pony Express, and then a morning run Sunday before heading back to the South Bay. I need to do some research, but if you're interested in that part and can make it this time, I'll start checking into stuff.

yeah man I'd love to, but I just found out Aug 4th is a definite no go for me...August in general is, between my little girl starting school and me getting ready to go back out here again.

If anything comes up in July that's multi-day I'd be tempted (schedule permitting). I have a free place to crash in Sacramento most likely so that'd make it easier.

Dude, if you have a place to crash in Sac, then we will for sure have to plan something at some point that fits your schedule and get you out here!

Sacramento is where I live!

I'm in for staying the night and throwing a few beers back.

Everything else looks good too. I'll make sure to get plenty of GoPro footage :peace:

Here is an idea I have been thinking about, for a West Coast Raptor Run, seeing if this ranch would let us do something like the ranch did out in Texas.

Tejon Ranch

It's kinda central to a lot of us, NorCal, SoCal, AZ, LV, Reno...could be epic if they host stuff like that. Found them in the video of the Raptor with the camera boom.

I'm not sure they let that stuff go on there but I could be wrong.

I do know hungry valley is right there. Hungry Valley SVRA

plus there's quite a few lakes out there also.

Hey, well give us enough advanced notice, and let us work out some kinks in our Reno trip plannings, get some good stuff set-up and planned out, and lets make it happen!
