Gotta remember that exhaust sound is a very SUBJECTIVE matter; one person is going to think that the drone level is "excessive" while another is going to say it is minimal.

It's my experience that Magnaflow's straight through muffler design limits the drone very well. Your typical chambered style muffler systems (such as Flowmaster) are the ones that normally produce gobs of drone.

I can say that I'm quite pleased with the Magnaflow catback on my SCAB; as mentioned it's got the perfect level of quietness while putting around town and really comes to life/wakes up once you stomp on the go-pedal.

I should make a video of my catback...

I 100% agree. I am just trying to give him an honest picture there is a drone there with the catback.. is it bad? not at all in my mind.. like I said 1/4 volume on the stereo and its gone which is awesome compared to some exhausts. and its such a small rpm/mph range that the drone exists that it never bothered me. Im very excited to get the magnaflow setup on my raptor again in august or September with the resonator delete pipe to see if itll be much louder.

^ No worries, I totally got what you were saying. :) Wasn't directing my post at anyone in particular, was just making more of a general observation when it comes to "exhaust sound" threads on message board forums.

FWIW - Be sure to post up a video after you do the resonator delete mod.

Just replaced my Borla cat back with a Magnaflow, shop changed the outlet to a single 3" dumped after the exhaust. Said the dual outlet was more for looks and there are no negatives to having the single tube.

I have only driven it home (10 minutes of city driving) but is definitely not as loud or throaty as my Borla.

May have to see what to do about making it a bit louder

Noticed that the exhaust has a little of a raspier note at idle recently. Think I found the cause:

I should note that the drone was right at 70-75 which is where I drive the most. Get to 80 and it goes away
