Anyone see the Ford oil consumption warnings this week?

Just had low engine oil pressure light come on while going up a hill. Truck slowed down with no horsepower. I checked the engine oil and it was clean , but five quarts low . Vehicle has less than 6000 miles on it and most are highway . Brought the truck to dealership and I was informed this is the third Raptor with the same issues . Filter was removed and cut open , with no sign of metal shavings. Ford recommends changing the valve covers with no charge to me . I was also told that the two other trucks required new engines . I was basically told that I’m at a wait and see now with my truck . Doesn’t really make me feel confident in my Raptor .

Similar thing happened to me.

Pressure gauge never signalled, but at about 6,250 miles the check engine light came on. Dealership said "no oil on stick" but would not say how low other than "at least two quarts".

I've been watching it closely since then, NEVER had to on other new vehicles, but after 1,000 miles the level has stayed steady. So I think it was not fully filled on assembly line.

I might have had the same issue (truck came from the factory low on oil). I can't remember how many miles were on the truck, but I checked it after a month or so of ownership and the oil level was near the fill mark. I added oil and the level has remained good ever since.

While I was idling I got a notification that it would shut down with a countdown timer and I hit ok to dismiss. Mine is a 19 with right under 3k miles. Must not have had it full from the factory? After reading another thread about the oil pump maybe the idling had something to do with it?

I doubt idling the truck had anything to do with it. Most likely it came from factory low which sounds like has happened to a few people on here. I’m sure it will be just fine now. Never a bad idea to monitor it tho! I’ll usually check mine once a month after it’s been sitting for a while to verify my level is good.

It wouldn't be an issue if the slackers at the dealership were properly prepping the trucks for delivery. There's also many reports of tires being over inflated.

Finally someone is stepping up to the plate to challenge Ford. DODGE!! it’s going to be interesting, in fact I’m interested. Maybe their vehicles won’t come from the factory low on oil. LOL

Rest assured, if you buy an FCA vehicle of any type, you'll be spending plenty of time at the dealership. If you're lucky they'll give you a minivan rental for the priviledge. Enjoy.

It also wouldn’t be an issue if people who took delivery of their trucks actually checked their oil more than once every year whether the truck needs it or not.
