Anyone see the Ford oil consumption warnings this week?

I heard that all engine should burn some oil.

It used to be made up with fuel dilution.

With the more precise fuel delivery in modern engines its more pronounced.

The engine should not consume all its oil between oil changes though.

To pile on what has already been said, modest oil consumption is not indicative of a fatal flaw. My 996 Turbo manual says up to 1qt every 1k miles is within spec. That's a different car and different motor, but I think the point remains, it's not uncommon for healthy motors to consume some oil. Definitely check it, and track it.
Oh yeah, Porsches love their oil. Every Turbo and GT2 I’ve owned from 997 back to a 930 Ruf BTR used oil. The air cooled cars especially, by design.

Oil consumption affects every make, model and brand across the platform range.
100% agreement on that, I think the issue is the excessive rate that SOME people are seeing.

In my case I cannot say with certainty how much oil I consumed in the first 6,200 miles because I cannot say it wsa full when delivered, and that is my fault. I can say there was "no oil on the stick" when it was checked, and if it were full when delivered that is how much oil? I'm totally guessing it to be around 2 quarts.

I'm willing to accept that I have to add a quart every 2 or 3 thousand miles, but if that is normal then why are only some of us seeing it?

@Edbert - the same reason only some Corvette owners see it, the same reason only some Dodge owners see it, and some Porsche owners, etc.

this woman who posts here as sl75 and used to post here as sasquatch77 and at least 6 more id’s is just trolling here. She’s just trying to get people’s goat and it’s a pointless exercise to engage in what you might think is debate or conversation with her, she’s a troll.

About the same thing happened to me, oil barely registered on the dipstick around 8k. Since first oil change, I does not appear to be using any oil. On my second change now, 19k miles. I figure it was probably low when I bought it new.

I’ve got a 2018 and it uses about 1 qt of oil every 3000 miles. I don’t like it but I guess Ford seems to think it’s normal. I went full synthetic after my first oil change which was 5000 miles. I’m not sure if the synthetic makes any difference at all.
