Those are actually the specs when using regular gas. On premium:

2.3: 300hp, 315 ft-lbs
2.7: 330hp, 325 ft-lbs

No, check again. It's on the bottom of the first page. That document says this concerning hp and torque on premium fuel:
- 2.3L: 300hp, 325 ft-lbs
- 2.7L: 330hp, 415 ft-lbs

So on premium gas the 2.7L makes 10.0% more horsepower and 27.7% more torque than the 2.3L.

The 2.7 actually has the largest take rate of all the F150 engines at 35%.

It does not have the largest take rate but the 2nd largest according to the article you posted.

Ah, I did mistype the torque on the 2.7L.

It's worded slightly odd, but this is directly from the article. In any case, the 2.7 is definitely not the least popular F150 engine as you claimed.

2.7: 35%
3.5: 25-30%
5.0: 25-30%
3.3: 10-15%

Does anybody make a vehicle purchase based upon how popular the thing is?
Dear heavens, I hope that Americans haven't all become such sheep.

Are Raptors popular? Everybody wants one but the supply isn't that high. A percentage on here don't even own one and have never owned one. If they made only raptors and sold each brand new for 40k then every F150 owner would drive a Raptor. It isn't about popularity it is about owning what you want and what you can comfortably pay for.

I would like to get a bronco but am holding out for an engine choice they don't currently offer. Hybrid or EV, surely Ford will have that option in the next 6 months or so.
