That's funny. Seems like we have seen technology continue to advance rapidly. e.g. wired phones to cell phones; ice boxes to refrigerators; no computers to personal phones that do more than mainframes of the past.

EV's are a good option for some today and will be for more in the future.
It wouldn't be an issue if we weren't being forced.

Why do you think the Leaf was only worth $10K? Pretty early EV player - 2011 is when it came out I think. Will your friend buy another EV or is he done?
It's a small car with very limited range. "Up to 130 miles" brand new. He drives it back and forth to work where he can charge it for free while his wife and kids drive the other three cars. His wife doesn't like to have to remember to charge it and his kids think it's totally uncool. They aren't very woke. :) He doesn't mind and it was cheap. When he retires it, I'm sure he'd do it again ... for $10k. That's a reasonable price for what it is. Increase the theoretical range to say 400 miles so that you'd get a real life 200 after five years of commuting? Probably worth more. The sad truth about EVs is that they still aren't a win for the wallet(without the subsidy) or the environment yet. They are getting a lot closer and may be nearing crossover, depending on where the electricity comes from. It's going to happen if we have to bankrupt ourselves to do it. The win for the environment is when China can start burning natural gas instead of coal and when Africa can start burning coal instead of wood because we stopped using up all of the good stuff.

Maybe forced in California but nobody thinks those looney tunes have the best ideas. In fact even the California “ICE ban” only applies to state/government vehicles. Being in TX im intrigued in electric cars as a daily option but obviously want for them to stable out a bit. I always say Ill give it til gen 4 and the Raptor will be a hybrid at the minimum, probably gen 5 electric (optional at least). Im sure by 2032 (my estimated gen 5 projection if gen 5 ever becomes a thing), the electrical grid will be more stable and chargers will be more available/common.

In what year/generation do you predict Raptors will be capable of sustained flight? I want to start saving now!!! ;) With all due respect of course.

I predict by 2032 if the Dems remain in charge, off roading will be outlawed except on rare private lands, and UTVs and Raptors will disappear.

You’re gravely underestimating the thread the fruit and nut state poses. There are already several other states who adopt CA emissions by their law, so when CA gets fruitier and nuttier, so do those states. PA is one who follows CA emissions dictates.

It only takes a political shift for these nuts to change another state and another and another. So don’t think they’re not spreading the looney tunes, because they are and FAR outside their borders.
