I guess I'll be the one who stands in the middle. I get it.. I understand the functionality but they are very situationally dependent on what you are using the truck for. I would never personally get one because it serves me no purposeyeah, it's definitely a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing. I haven't met anybody who is in The Middle on this one.
I've been going back and forth. I've had an ARE topper on my F150 and a tri-fold tonneau. I like them both a lot. I'm now leaning toward the Undercover tri-fold tonneau. If I were to get a topper, it would definitely be the ARE Revo that you mentioned. Best design I've seen and great company.
The Gen3 will be my first Raptor so I don't have any experience with a topper while pushing it on the trails. Some added weight in the back end is probably a good thing. Might need to check the topper/bed clamps before and after serious offroading. Hopefully the other hardware and windows hold up well.
Wouldn't a softtopper make sense? I mean, the utility is there without the need for a lift to take it on/off as needed. Im pretty sure that's where I'm going.I guess I'll be the one who stands in the middle. I get it.. Didn't know those existed, and now I am confused. What on earth are we using soft toppers for now? Like transporting medium sized furniture in the rain? Overlanding? It can't be for daily use if you have anything of value back there. What's wrong with a tonneau cover now lolWouldn't a softtopper make sense? This! I was thinking I should get one I can remove when i'm not using it. I go on road trips to CA fairly often and putting the dogs back there would be ideal. Only thing is, i'd want them to have air conditioning.I wonder if anyone's even buying these. I still have yet to see these in the real world.
I'm looking more for function.
I would like to keep the dogs out of the front cab on this one, and hoping to keep them in the bed.
I was just thinking about this, do these toppers have windows? Because there's no way you are keeping a dog in the bed like 4 months out of the year. Just get a Bronco and call it a day lolThis! I'd use it for quick overland trips or to protect vacation items from the elements. It seems to hold up really well to the elements since its Sailcloth in essence. It comes off in about 1 minute and isn't thousands of dollars so, you could have both a Tonneau for everyday driving and switch to the SoftTopper if you needed protection for bulky items.Didn't know those existed, and now I am confused.
