just wondering what you guys are doing (besides whipples, superchargers, and turbos) to make these 6.2's run a little better? Will the tuners make a good difference in performance as far as the lag with throttle response and the transmission shifting so damn fast? I know the tuners make a night and day difference in diesels but have never owned or road in a tuned gasser. It seems like the only way i can get some feel good performance out of this thing is shifter in M right foot to the floor taking it to the red!:emotions122:

offroad mode worked for me until my 5 star/itsx came in - aggressive shifts and would hold gears much longer.

with the performance tune, my on road shifting is more aggressive than off with tps at 50%+

definitely worth it if the ootb tune is too mild

mike also sets the throttle butterfly(?) valve(?) opening ramp up much more aggressively.

sounds great, makes a huge difference in throttle response. but it roughs up the daily drive. I may leave the performance tune for my OHV adventures.

Sold my 2008 PS to buy a Raptor. I was hesitant because if never owned anything but Diesel. The power is different, you loose the good ol' grunt of the PS but you can really wind up the 6.2. 5 star tuner really made a difference. One plus you can get in, hit the key and have heat quick.

p.s. still kinda miss my PS

lunchbox im kind of going through the same thing with missing my powerstroke lol. i agree 100% the thing will run when you start winding it out, but there is nothing like the low end balls out power of a diesel and a turbo spooling. i dont think anything has that kinda pull. ive heard all about the throttle blade not fully opening and giving you good power til 4800 rpm's, but u never really get there if your just driving down the road trying to get decent gas mileage. thats why i guess i was hoping the tuner would help the low end a little bit and give it more power. i guess im just gonna have to buy the tuner and hope it livens the motor up.

That thought had crossed my mind more than once. I also liked the front mount twin turbo set uP. U know a round abOut number on what it cost to whipped it?

I traded my 2003 7.3L Powerstroke for the Raptor. I kinda miss my PS too. It was a fully loaded Red FX4 Crewcab. Don't get me wrong, I like the Raptor but I miss the turbo making my mountainous world seem flat.
