MTB have to be light,so use of carbon fiber, titanium and light craft part raise price.
my bike weight is 22 LB.

For anyone still following, install complete. Super simple, and well worth it in my opinion. Bikes secure in the bed and not hanging my off the tailgate or hitch.

Excuse the dirty bed, she does truck stuff.

Finally got the bike out again.. 2021 Santa Cruz Heckler MC Carbon CC + Thule T2 Pro XTR.

Other toy in driveway is '22 Telsa Model 3 Performance

Love the build out man. My plan would be a smart cap, and then just run the bike in the bed fully covered/secured.

Why not mount in the bed?

I’ve got a custom slide mounted in the bed loaded with gear. I’ll try and get a picture of it all opened up and post it here
