Not sure I understand these.

Out of curiosity, why do people think anyone with enough knowledge to defeat the ignition controls on a modern car can't defeat commercial anti theft devices as well?

Doesn't seem like one would be more difficult than the OEM immobilizer/key fob systems?

The objective is really deterrence rather than prevention, because let’s be honest, they can tow the truck away if they’re serious enough and can do it before you could get to it from say, inside a mall with your family.

The more challenging and time consuming you make it for the thief, the more likely they will move on to something else or potentially draw unwanted attention and get caught, beatdown or punished.

I guess Ravelco sticker is as effective as the whole system...
But just curious how you guys feel about Ravelco, I feel the plug thing makes me back to the days without push-start....

You get used to using the plug on the vehicle. I actually still struggle attaching it to my key chain, but worth it. And it's optional, you can just rely on insurance if you want.
