Hahah! Yeah, maybe it's not mine! lol.

Nah, my original antenna removed just like the 2010. Someone jacked this one on there so ******* tight is what I think... Who knows.

So did you ever get the factory antenna off? My brand new 2011 is doing the same thing. I can't get the damn thing to unscrew to save my life.

No shit! I didn't get it off myself; I took it to the dealer and they had to replace the entire thing. Had to fish out the antenna cable from through the fender and under the dash. Never had them re-install the new mast.

****. Guess I get to schedule some quality time with the dealer. Hopefully it's not too late to get it scheduled for Saturday; I really don't want to be without the truck next week.

I had them order the whole antenna and I went in there when it came in and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. You can't just order the mast, it has to be the whole thing!

Just received my stubby from CravenSpeed, and thought this was going to be an easy mod. I should have known better. My antenna (2012 SCREW) just rotates at the base...won't unscrew. ****! I just threw the stubby in my extra parts box . Too frustrated to even deal with this BS right now. It's always something....

is it making a ratcheting type noise? Mine did the same thing. I had to really fast rotate it to shock it and break it loose, then it unthreaded easily.

No...not a sound...just rotates, regardless of whether I turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise. Very aggravating, to say the least. I may try to pop the plastic base cover off without scratching the paint. I read somewhere that there's a couple of torx screws that hold the base down. I may fiddle with that if I get motivated. :birgits_tiredcoffee

Very strange. I got my Craven Stubby last week. I couldn't unscrew my stock antenna by hand, so I used a paper towel and a wrench (didn't want to scratch it) and it loosened exactly as you'd expect. I then removed it by hand. This is a brand new 2012 Screw.

Sorry guys, I'd be frustrated too. It seems like it should be so easy.

So far the Stubby works just fine.
