Guys please don't bark at me for asking this...I have read and searched a great deal. Im about to put a deposit down and get in line. I have contacted at least four dealerships locally who all offered msrp. several others that I have connections with have said 5K - 15K over.
I want to save money and this is a large investment for me. I think the best deal I could ever get would be 500-1000 over invoice which is around 3k difference...still a lot of money to me. the dealers ive talked to gave me the story of how many they are getting. 2 over them said they attended a meeting this week (Las Vegas in think) and they knew how many they were getting for 17....they may be able to open order in 18. Again 3k is a lot to me be but if I can secure one a msrp and actually get it first part of the year should I do it?
I have been keeping up with the info just had several different dealerships tell me the same thing today...any info is appreciated.

From what Ive seen right now it kind of depends on where your located and your relationship with your dealer. Based on that (right now in pre production order stage) so called "good deals" in my opinion are ranging from a lil over invoice to MSRP.

It all depends how fast you want one and how much youre willing to spend. My guess is that once production starts rolling there will be plenty of trucks to go around. If the $ is keeping you up at night it may be best to wait a bit.

Good luck

I don't want to tell you what to do, friend, but if $3k was going to make or break me, I probably wouldn't be looking at a >$50K vehicle.

If you haven't ordered yet, your first step should be to determine what you're comfortable with paying. Know ahead of time what you can spend up front, what you can pay monthly, and what options you need in the vehicle.

If you can't make it all fit, don't try to force it. I'm sure they're not planning on cancelling the Raptor after one year of production. If anything, it'll get better in a couple years.

Thx...about every dealership I've contacted have told be the number that they are getting. I've talked w different salesmen at the same dealership. Said they are getting x amount for 2017 then later next year would be able to order more. This is from multiple dealers. 3k is not going to kill me just don't want to waste it but also don't want to wait a year. Thanks again

You know there sure do seem to be a LOT of "meetings" that these sales people are attending in Vegas to find out how many allocations they're getting. Even my dealer - told me back in mid July that he was going to be "attending a meeting in Vegas" where they'd get more info (it's been a month since that "meeting") and this thread is about the 3rd or 4th where someone has said their dealer *just* attended a meeting in Vegas *this week.*

I'm wondering if maybe these sales people aren't just collecting deposits and heading to Vegas for some fun. :ROFLJest::ROFLJest::ROFLJest:

This sounds obvious but people don't think about it when buying something they really want sometimes and that is only buy/spend what your willing to give for the truck and not feel guilty about. By the sounds of it your second guessing the extra $3K which is understandable and may mean you will regret spending it. Spend what your willing to spend and not loose any sleep over it! Don't worry about what other deals other people are getting. If you want to be one of the first people to have one and your able to spend MSRP then go for it. The last thing you want to do is spend that much cash and regret it. I got a good deal on mine but I had a friend at the dealership but in the end I still spent more than many of these posts I've been reading but you know what I don't care because I still feel like it was a fair deal and I'm happy with what I'm buying! If in the end you don't feel the same than hold off I guarantee in 6-12 months the hype is going to wear off and better deals will be given. If your happy with MSRP and can pay it then who cares. In the grand scheme of things your buying a $60K-$70K vehicle and $3K is only about 5% of what your actually spending. I wouldn't advise against spending $10K over MSRP but then if your willing to spend that and happy with it then who cares what everybody else thinks/says! JMHO...

if it were me in your situation I'd keep saving. At least until 18 model year. Remember a vehicle is not an investment it's a liability it only depreciates and wears out. Don't risk those first year growing pains, be patient.

in my opinion $3k is $3k. if my lease was ending and i needed the truck now then i would debate the $3k. If you can wait six months, it will make all the difference. Wait until the first truck is sitting on the lot for a week. To me i would wait for $3k. Plus that would let them work out any bugs on the production line.
