Vent first? Is that to used to break loose a sticking rubber seal prior to sliding back? If this is an issue perhaps a light coating of silicone (NOT petroleum!) grease on the seals as a routine maintenance item?

Got a double IPA in the fermenter right now. Just finished one up a couple weeks back and kegged. West coast style. Fermenting now is a SMaSH DIPA with a robust and aggressive hop schedule. great aroma so far.A good IPA is almost always in order. Unless you can have scotch.

Not sure why you would have scotch when bourbon is available. Lots of good scotch ages in used bourbon barrels. Good bourbons that age in scotch barrels? Anybody? Bueller?
“Quality tequila (made from 100-percent agave) comes in at my top pick for the healthiest hard liquor,” Friedman says. “Unlike most other hard liquors, tequila doesn’t spike your blood sugar, which means even people with type 2 diabetes can drink it — in fact, it may even lower glucose levels and increase insulin production.” Tequila is also relatively low in calories. “One shot of tequila contains only 63 calories, compared to the 96 calories in a shot of vodka,” Friedman says.
