Another dealer playing games

Bill collwell Ford was decent enough from the start and was very helpful. I was on there list for approx 6/7 months and was up to submit an order for a 22.
Had a signed contract which stated I gave them a deposit and they would sell at msrp. They are in fact selling at msrp, but the owner decided he would negate any list and give the allocations to his friends in the area. I am getting my deposit back and the salesman was extremely apologetic.
While I understand it is ultimately the dealers business and they can do what they want. Why do they need to perpetuate the stereotype of being sneaky and untrustworthy?
If you want to make a more impactful statement I would call them out on their Facebook page and Instagram page. Most businesses do not like getting negative reviews posted to their page.

I agree with this, it would make a big impact, or put in some reviews.....depends on how bitter you are, at least we know that that dealer stinks

Dealers are officially useless middle men who should be extinct. With the internet at our finger tips we know more about these vehicles than the salesmen. And probably know more about allocations and order processes than them as well. And the tactics they use to stay alive is very off putting
I for sure knew more about my gen 3 than my saleswoman. She asked me, "whats the FP GN 03" mean, i explained it and shes like ohhh.....lol probably didnt even know the rear suspension was completely redone for this gen

That's funny, I did the same thing the other weekend @ Fred Beans. They had a stock order show up and I was literally going around showing the salesman all the new features and tricks. I've never even driven a Raptor before

I agree that you need to supply feedback on Facebook and also leave one on Google. The google reviews are particularly useful, I had one landscaping businesses change their response to me (didn't ask for me to change the review after however I did update it)

Also agree with the lack of knowledge.... a salesman I was speaking with as I waited for my plates didn't even know that Lead Foot was a color.... "owww the grey one" .... WOW

Yeah I’m new to ford. Never owned one. And I know a lot more than these salesmen. And they want thousands in commissions? To do what exactly?

And don’t get me started on the ADMs they want to spend 10 minutes entering in an order to ford

I think we often fail to remember these "salesman" are not the cream of the crop. That's why they are car salesman (not all bad, not all good, nothing wrong with it), do the leg work yourself, leave nothing to chance, and be informed. As they say, trust but verify. Especially on your $75-$100K truck purchase.

I agree salesmen are a waste of time. Never once have I purchased a vehicle because the salesman convinced me. When I bought my Raptor last year I knew more about it than the salesman and knew what I wanted. All the salesman was good for was filling up the gas tank. I should have gotten the commission cause I “sold” it to myself basically.

IMO BC Ford in Hudson, IA is a bit of a joke. Bought a Certified Limited from them that needed the tracks for the pano sunroof replaced, they said they would take care of it but didnt have the parts in. Scheduled an appt to get it done about 3 weeks after the sale occured, go up there 3 weeks later after having the appt confirmed 2 days before, and they dont have the part in stock. Wouldn't have been a big deal if it wasn't an hour drive. They basically said sorry, offered nothing in return, not even a carwash for my trouble of getting up there on a weekday. I took it to Steve Link that same day and it was fixed in half an hour. Not surprised you got the run around.

Under the law and in most jurisdictions there is a term called consideration. Once a dealer accepts money and agrees to a term there is a contract. Most dealers know this and put bs terms in saying this is not a contract. But in fact it is. They used your money for free for as long as they had it. Now it probably is not much but you do have a case of consideration under the law. If all else fails call the zone rep and explain the situation. Ford does not like dealers implicating themselves in shady deals. Also call the Dealer principal and get it straight from the horses mouth. Then find a reputable dealer and buy from them. Then tell everyone you come in contact with about the dealers shady deal. Last but not least place a large sign in the back of a truck stating the dealer is shady and does not honor his deals. Park it on a public street in front of the dealership. Make a photo copy of the refund check as this proves your case. Truth is an absolute defense in any law suit the dealership might file. This will probably get you on the local news also. Just saying I would not let this go unpunished... but that's me...
