The way I look at it is just like the Raptor R race team in Baja... adapt and overcome is the name of the game. I don't know how much real "Thread Jacking" goes on here... if you look back at the threads that have been 'jacked' it's usually because the original topic has petered out, or everybody that is presently following it has said all the have to say on the topic. So the topic naturally morphs into something related but different, but it stems from the original conversation.
It's like if we all were sitting around the campfire sipping a brew and Damon is talking about the Raptor tranny. After everyone has said their piece and that lull happens, Dan pipes up and talks about the SEMA show where the Tranny had it's own ****** babe touting it's strenghts and general coolness and the size of headlights she had. Nowbody is gonna say "HEY... we were talking about TRANSMISSIONS! and expect everyone to sheepishly go back to trying to figure out something new to say about trannies.
BUT if Frogsmacker walks up from his nap and says "Hey you guys woke me up talking 6R80 stuff... did you hear about the whizgig fulcrum going to sh*t on the Cheby Baja 1000 entry? And we are right back talking about trannies again. No harm... no foul.
True thread jacking is caused by a ******* with an axe to grind... something we don't have here. And if one stops by... I don't think he could stand up to the deluge of **** posts that he would get.
Just sayin...
