Your saying the truck is reading along the same oil life left as the report is?

I was just looking to blindly change every 5k with Amsoil SS. But figured it might be premature. Unless I do the analysis, I rather err on the side of caution.

It seems that 1000 kms = 1% on the oil life gauge. TBN says I can go another 1000 kms to 11k kms.

I did the oil analysis just for proof and to make me feel better.

I may do an analysis next oil change at 5k just to really see where I’m at. So in these engines Signature is nowhere near even a 15k oil as they advertise. Not that I would ever leave it in for anywhere this length of time.

What filter do you run?

OCI depends on so many factors. Extreme climate, towing, stop and go, competitition etc. I’m a big fan of Amsoil but I’ve never completely bought their advertised service interval. Many oil and car manufacturers have this “set and forget” attitude towards maintenance and I think that’s asking for trouble.

I like the Motorcraft oil filters but Wix are very good too.

Agreed on the maintenance intervals manufacturers are requiring now. By far the advancement in synthetic lubricants has truly extended service. But they are pushing it way out there in many cases. Maybe certain vehicles being driven under lighter conditions may come close to what some of the oil company’s claim. But certainly doesn’t seem to be the case with these trucks.

I remember watching that clip on SNL with my wife and we were howling. It’s one of the greats.

I backed the Raptor in a few times at the beginning and ya I had to climb over the centre console. I drive in nose first so I can get out no probs. Always good to have a tight fit in the garage pun intended.

What’s under the cover?

Too funny....I also started backing in,but just to close to my Corvette, and only had to climb over console once to realize this isnt going to work,so now pull in...lots easier, and I use my PRO-EAGLE jack with its high handle up front to let me know when to stop....since no warning sounds like when you back in...LOL
1963 Corvette is under the cover....and bet I've owned it before you were born...going on 45 years....I'm one of the few that loved his 1st car,he kept it.....bought in 1974 year I got out of High School....they were just 'Used" cars then, and pretty cheap, since you couldnt get gas for them with the shortage...
Stay safe out there.....glad I live in the sticks and not the city right now.... :)
