I ordered some Amsoil to do an oil change next weekend and would like to run the Amsoil filter as well. Anyone know the P/N or a link? I take it these are much better than the stock Motorcraft filters?

Based solely on price, you can’t beat Motorcraft oil filters. IIRC, MC filters are made by Purolator, which are excellent quality filters. This info is from my UOA.
Amsoil EA filters are excellent but are for extended OCI and IMO, not recommended for the 3.5EB.

Amsoil is good but I would go with a K&N. I thinks its better. Although, I love Amsoil Signature.
I have no doubt that Amsoil filters are high quality. However, I have no idea as to whether they're up to the latest quality standards, such as newly developed USCAR-36.

I found this article interesting...not for the filters they “recommended” but for the synthetic and high performance models discussed later in the article. The Motorcraft used by ford and mentioned in the USCAR-36 video only filters 95% of <30 microns yet several of the High performance brands (where you do pay a premium) boast 99 to 99.6%, with one listing 99% of <25 microns. That is significantly better than the Motorcraft.
I just don’t see the USCAR-36 standard (which by the way is not “new” as it is from October 2013 - https://www.uscar.org/guest/article_view.php?articles_id=725) being universally applied. It is pretty much ignored by the industry.
My feeling, the higher end filters have exceeded at LEAST the filtration standard by a long way. There is a lot more to a filter than just the filtration which is more in the gray zone.
I’m going to be going with one of the High Performance filters when the time comes. Not sure which one but just on filtration alone, the Motorcraft standard is just not even close to what some of the higher end filters can do.
If anyone has any good science out there on this, I’d love to see it!

Yep. The Amsoil EA filters are good for 98.7 percent at 20 microns.

Yep...they weren’t in the article but I read that from their site too. Shoulda included that extra info since Amsoil seems to be pretty popular on the forum. So they are definitely in that high performance brand territory.
